A Welcome Break
I got a new boss and things were so much better. He was very interactive with the techs in my group. He would meet with us individually once a month, set three goals with us, and ensure we could achieve them. This plan would give us 36 accomplishments for our yearly performance review. We wouldn’t have to make them up when it came time to fill out our part of that performance review or be surprised by a negative review in our meeting. We stopped rotating labs every year, we kept the lab assignment we had all the time, and we could perfect our skills without having to fix the problems from the last tech’s term of service.
My meds seemed to be working well at this time since I exchanged my anxiety meds for the herb catnip. I took two pills in the morning and two at noon, just like any vitamin and the daily anxiety attacks became almost nonexistent.
This time in my life I had a stable job that I enjoyed, I got along well with my coworkers, I liked my boss, and it felt like it was stable and steady. I can see how a stable environment can play a big role in my mental stability. It was nice to have a break from the rollercoaster ride I had been on.
Too bad it didn’t last…
